We are thrilled to share exciting news for the RTA community: Brandon Barrow has been named Director of External Affairs, marking an important milestone as the organization enters its next chapter of growth and impact.

In this expanded leadership role, Brandon Barrow will lead RTA’s public-facing strategy, overseeing individual and institutional fundraising, government relations, public relations, communications, marketing, and brand management.

“I’m incredibly honored to step into this new role at such an exciting and pivotal moment for RTA. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful storytelling, community, and the arts can be in transforming lives.” – Brandon Barrow

The appointment builds on Brandon’s more than six years with RTA, where she has served as Director of Marketing and Communications and been the creative force behind how the organization shares its work.

Her leadership has elevated RTA’s visibility, strengthened organizational identity, deepened community engagement, and supported fundraising efforts that make program growth possible.

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Archaeology from the University of Maryland and previously worked in the Education Department at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, as well as in fine art galleries across New York City. In every role, her work has centered on connecting people to art, ideas, and one another—values that align deeply with RTA’s mission.

Outside of RTA, Brandon finds joy in wandering art museums, gardening, and—most importantly—spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Music is another throughline in her life, so to celebrate this new chapter, she shared a Top 10 Playlist that reflects both nostalgia and hope—perfect themes for RTA’s ongoing journey.
