Alumni In The News

People are tuning in to hear the voices of RTA alumni—and the message is loud and clear: creativity can change lives.

This summer, three powerful alumni—Dario Peña, John “Divine G” Whitfield, and Sean “Dino” Johnson—have taken to the airwaves, appearing on a series of podcasts to reflect on their journeys from incarceration to impact. While each of their paths is unique, all three discovered purpose and community through RTA’s programs at Sing Sing Correctional Facility.

Today, they are artists, advocates, and educators shaping what’s possible on the outside. And as stars of the critically acclaimed film SING SING, they’re using their platforms to speak honestly about healing, transformation, and the role the arts played in helping them rebuild.

Whether they’re talking about the power of storytelling, the challenges of reentry, or the systems they’re working to change, one thing comes through clearly: the journey doesn’t end at release—it evolves.
